The English Language Department of KAZGUU University have great pleasure in announcing the opening of the registration for the English Public Speaking Contest 2017 open to students aged between 17 and 21 in full-time education.
All participants will be required to compete in two heats: a prepared speech heat and an impromptu speech heat on Friday April 14, 2017 at KAZGUU University. The results will be announced on the same day and the semi-finalists will be invited to take part in the Final stage of the Contest. EPSC 2017 Final will take place on Saturday April 15, 2017 at KAZGUU University. Time and venue to be confirmed later.
To take part in the competition a student should:
· fill in an online application form here http://bit.do/epsc2017
· prepare a 5-minute speech in English on the topic ‘Label jars, not people’* (that will be delivered on Friday April 14, 2017)
· semi-finalists will be asked to deliver a speech on the topic: ‘Men build too many walls and not enough bridges’* (on Saturday April 15, 2017).
*Speakers may interpret the theme in any way they see it, but they should not use the theme as the title of the speech.
The Deadline for application forms is Monday April 10, 2017.
